At Recharge, I helped shape the company’s evolution from a subscription-first product into a broader commerce platform. I led design for Loyalty, its first non-subscription offering, and later reimagined Checkout, helping merchants generate over $3M in monthly GMV.

2025 - 2026
I designed upsell and cross-sell experiences that increased average order value and subscription adoption across the customer journey. Along the way, I uncovered a critical usability gap: merchants were “flying through” setup without understanding what they had configured, leading to poor retention. I redesigned the experience into a guided setup flow that reduced same-session drop-off from 38% to 9%. The pattern was later adopted across Recharge’s product suite, replacing the canvas builder as the default setup experience.
Recharge Loyalty
2023 - 2024
Recharge’s loyalty program started as a simple MVP. I redesigned it into a configurable platform that enabled merchants to create personalized reward experiences using no-code workflows, reusable building blocks, and custom incentives. The result was a product that adapted to each merchant’s unique needs, driving 35% adoption within eight months, nearly 3× the original 12% target, while helping 48% of subscribers stay through their third order.
My process
I adapt my process to the challenge at hand. Whether exploring blue-sky opportunities, running rapid growth experiments, or refining an existing feature, every problem demands a different process. While the challenge may change, my work is grounded in three principles:
Discovery: Listen first. My first step is always to go around the room, asking questions, chatting with stakeholders, taking notes, before I put pen to paper. Claude helps speed up the synthesis.
Define and design: Alignment over pixels. I use brainstorming tools and exercises to get the team on the same page. If the team isn't arguing about the right problem, no amount of UX can save it.
Know when to drop the process. The best outcomes come from knowing when to follow the framework, and when to walk away from it.
